DetailsI've only found tongs with this darling work on the handles one other time. Check out the cherubs at play on both the handles and the base of this piece. SO lovely.
To me, silver tongs add an elegance to meals that’s hard to top. Sometimes you get lucky and find tongs that are not just lovely, but extremely well made, such as these. These tongs are sturdily constructed, with tight hinges. It's quite difficult to to find tongs with this degree of hardiness. Great for serving anything that requires picking up en mass: asparagus, meats, other vegetables, small pastries or little individual cakes. Truly lovely. (I especially enjoy giving these away as special gifts to brides-to-be.)

A word of caution...many sellers advertise these pieces as 800 silver when they are silver plate. Be sure that you can see the mark.
Since it's solid 800 silver, the standard for continental silver, you don't have to worry about the finish wearing off with use. A simple polish removes any accumulating tarnish. (I prefer Hagerty Silversmith's wash with a tarnish preventative. Avoid using silver dips; they'll remove the lovely patina that gathers in the crevices to enhance the detail of these pieces.)
No monogram.
Commensurate with age, the condition is excellent.
