DetailsGorham silversmiths are widely known for quality sterling silver in both flatware and holloware. This pattern by Gorham, Plymouth, is no exception.
This berry spoon, serving spoon, or salad spoon has a gold wash applied to the bowl, typical for berry spoons to counteract the acids from the berries. It is 7" in length, is monogrammed and weighs 39.83gm. Marking: old Gorham marks of lion, anchor, and G, which place this as a spoon from the 1950s; sterling
The olive spoon has a faded gold wash and is marked with the old Gorham marks of lion, anchor, and G, which place this as a spoon from the 1920s; sterling. It weighs 15 grams and measures 5 3/4" by 1". No monograms.
Monogramming on Serving Spoon. The monogram is difficult to know with certainty, due to the flourishes in the engraving. When three letters appear, as is the case here, the center letter usually represents the last name. I believe the center letter is an "S" with and "H" and a "C' flanking, left and right.
