  I loved watching Downton Abbey as much for the jewelry and clothing as for the plot. This beautiful long necklace recreates one worn in that classic period drama.
  
  This lovely piece was a custom piece for Annie the first time around, carefully constructed to create a balance of design between the hematite and the pearl sequence. If you're a math lover, you might enjoy knowing that the spacing between the pearls, as well as the stretches without pearls, are symmetric, creating a very lovely balance that appeals to the eye.
  
  Cultured 7-8mm pearls with the softest blush are separated by hematite and closed with a sterling silver CZ clasp. (Pearls are quite hard to photograph due to their luster.) Strung on pure silk, this is a classic for years to come. Very lovely.
  
  Something to notice...The weakest parts of any silk-strung pearls is the clasp, where the silk is in friction with that piece. Well made pearls will protect the silk with what is called a "gimp", a tightly wound piece of sterling or gold plated wire that encases the silk to form a sleeve that will take the abuse of the clasp without harming the silk. Whether you buy from me or anyone else, look for that gimp.
  
  The length: approximately 36 inches, but I can make another to your specs. Just contact me.
  
  The pearls: AAA pearls, champagne 7-8mm. Do you know that when you shop for pearls, the merchants will scratch their strands to prove that they are authentic? Real pearls have layers and layers of nacre, so even a scissors scratch will heal.
  
  The beads: 1x2mm genuine hematite
  
  The clasp: sterling silver with CZs, coated in rhodium to retard tarnishing
  
  All handcrafted jewelry carries a firm guarantee. Should you have issues with the silk stretching, I will restring the necklace free of charge. You need only pay the shipping.
