DetailsSimply the most exquisitely embroidered antique linen that I've found. The Edwardian-style work, also called Point de Venise, is elegant and the linen is very high quality. Looking at the photographs from my computer, it appears that ETSY sometimes reverses the embroidery, making it appear that it is concave rather than raised. Stay on the photo a second, and sometimes it will come into focus properly...Truly, just lovely!
For a smaller table, naturally, but I also love to use smaller cloths like this as layers over other cloths, highlighting their elegance to a raised position over stacked boxes, putting the main entree front and center.
Measuring 44.5 x 45, the slight difference in length is a detail typical of hand-made vintage cloths. In beautiful pristine condition, rarely, if ever, used. The age is an educated guess; commensurate with other cloths of similar nature.
Hand-laundered by me, ironed without starches; ready to use. Truly a lovely addition to a special event that could then become a treasured keepsake of the honoree. Bridal shower? Baby shower? Exquisite.
