• Details
  I've owned several sets of antique salt and pepper shakers, and love the simplicity of these. They came to me very black, and I've taken the time to remove some of the tarnish from the silver so you can see the sterling mark.
  
  These have lovely silver caps, with a few tiny dents here and there, likely from enthusiastic baby grips, but the glass is not damaged from holding salt too long, as many are. Notice the etched cross in the images...perhaps a flower, but it makes me wonder if they don't have Amish roots. Nicely weighted. I have guessed at the age since they are so very well made.

  A word of caution...many sellers advertise these pieces as sterling silver when they are silver plate. Be sure that you can see the mark.

  Since the caps are solid sterling silver, you don't have to worry about the finish wearing off with use. A simple polish removes any accumulating tarnish. (I prefer Hagerty Silversmith's wash with a tarnish preventative. Avoid using silver dips; they'll remove the lovely patina that gathers in the crevices to enhance the detail of these pieces.)
