  Simply lovely. Two large (for the type) exquisite hinged boxes from Germany, turn of the century.
  
  Tiny cherubs busy themselves playing in a vignette framed by flourishes that only turn of the century silversmiths troubled themselves to make...An engraved sterling pill box, perfect for meds, gum, or mints to be stashed away in a safe spot. (It was likely used for snuff in its day)
  
  These are German made boxes, hinged, comprised of 800 silver, the European standard for silver. Cherubs grace both of these boxes, along with all of the flourishes the Germans loved to carve in that day. Delightful.

  Since it's 800 silver, its original beauty can be returned with a simple polish. It will never rust or degrade. Its clasp is secure without being difficult to open. A new tool for all of us who like to keep additional meds handy. And SO much more fun than those ugly plastic caddies! Gift wrapped.
  
  Since this piece is solid 800 silver, you don't have to worry about the finish wearing off with use. A simple polish removes any accumulating tarnish. I don't even trouble with a cloth. A little polish on my thumb cleans everything to sparking new. (I prefer Hagerty Silversmith's wash with a tarnish preventative. Avoid using silver dips; they'll remove the lovely patina that gathers in the crevices to enhance the detail of these pieces.)
