DetailsI love pulling out specialized silver when I entertain. The Victorians knew how to party! Here we have two sterling silver tiny ladles, likely for mustard, but maybe caviar, hot sauces, your ideas?
The ladle by Blackinton in the Helena pattern is delicately formed with a smaller bowl. This lovely ladle has a very slight gold wash in the bowl, very faint now due to the age of this piece. Blackinton started making this pattern in 1900. The Blackinton name is venerable, as one of its first commissions was to provide flatware to US embassies across the world. Helena, by Blackinton, is a lovely traditional pattern from the turn of the century. This ladle has a gold wash applied to the bowl, which, due to the age of this piece, is very light now. The ladle is 5 1/4" in length and weighs 15 grams. The bowl is a lovely 1.25" wide. Super sweet.
Markings: Sterling, Pat 1900. The classic Blackinton mark of a sword drawn through a capital B
No Monogram.

The ladle by Wallace, made in the Waverly pattern, has a few more flourishes and a less formal feel. It bears an initial, I debate between calling it an "S" or an "L." The ladle is 5 13/8" in length and weighs 19 grams. The bowl is a diminutive .75" wide. Delightful.
