  Simply lovely.
  
  I’m in Kansas City girl and Art Deco/ Art Nouveau influences abound in my town. As a result of that, I am drawn to period pieces like this. This beautiful antique locket, circa 1900s, gold filled, features both etching and engraving. Marked W&H, this locket was made by Wightman and Hough Company of Providence, Rhode Island, makers of quality lockets from 1856- 1922.
  
  This locket closes tightly and still has the original interior gold filled frames (bezels) and photo covers. Note a couple of dings on the rim on the back. Typical of the period, the engraved initials are done with such a flourish that they’re difficult to make out. We believe they’re SMB, maybe LMB? I wonder about her story...
  
  Like other gold filled pieces, this one has stood the test of time. Lovely. I’ve added a real cultured pearl in some of the photos; I can add that bit of whimsy if you’d like. Gift Wrapped.
  
  The locket: 1 3/8” long including bail, 1” wide.
  Hallmark: W&H CO, 1/4 Gold Shell, a heavy gold fill on the exterior, explaining why it’s withstood time so beautifully!
  Weight: 7 grams
  
  Optional length chain: new 1.3mm or 2.1mm 14K gold filled flat cable chains, highly reflective. You pick length and type.
  
  Stays securely closed. Commensurate with age, this locket is in beautiful condition; see photos.
