I love giving pieces like this one as fun shower or hostess gifts with a note reflecting on all of the parties that century old pieces have seen. I also love hanging pieces like these on mustard pots that I've re-purposed for sugar cube pots, to the delight of my guests...coffee doesn't get better than this! (See NBJ877)
The US made, Kirk tongs:

The Norwegian tongs:

Weight: 15 grams
Hallmarks: TH Martinsen Sterling, 413, Norway
Beautiful condition with surface wear consistent with age.
Since these are solid sterling silver, you don't have to worry about the finish wearing off with use. A simple polish removes any accumulating tarnish. (I prefer Hagerty Silversmith's wash with a tarnish preventative. Avoid using silver dips; they'll remove the lovely patina that gathers in the crevices to enhance the detail of these pieces.)
Commensurate with age, the condition is excellent.
