DetailsBeautiful Dutch Pierced 800 Silver Serving Spoon, often called Monkey or Marriage spoons, this sweet piece likely has a mate out there waiting for reuniting. I am guessing at the age as the style is commensurate with similar pieces of that period. Beautifully patterned with a woman gathering from the fields. Rare piece with a cute requisite detailed, curved handle that these pieces always have.
Marked ~ 800 ~ Difficult to read, I could see it easily with a loop. See the image of the tip of the server and look in the shadows.

No monogram. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially lovely piece.

A word of caution...many sellers advertise these pieces as 800 silver when they are silver plate. Be sure that you can see the mark.
Since it's solid 800 silver, the standard for German silver, you don't have to worry about the finish wearing off with use. A simple polish removes any accumulating tarnish. (I prefer Hagerty Silversmith's wash with a tarnish preventative. Avoid using silver dips; they'll remove the lovely patina that gathers in the crevices to enhance the detail of these pieces.)
