Sweet cherubs grace both of these lovely pieces...great little dishes for holding candy or special treats, or your jewelry at night, or for gifting to a friend. I love giving pieces like these as fun shower or hostess gifts with a note reflecting upon all of the parties that century-old pieces like these might have seen.

    The oval dish:
An elegant dish, heavy for its size, German 800 Silver, ornate with cherubs at play, pierced--also called reticulated, (see the cutwork detail throughout the piece) with rose floral accents, hallmarked 800, bearing the style of Adam Manns & Sohn Silberwarenfabrik of Hanau, Germany.

    Dimensions: 6 1/4 x 5 x 1 1/8"
    Weight: 97 grams
Hallmarks: 800 crescent and crown of Germany

    The oval bowl:
An antique baroque elegant, heavier silver, and like the dish, beautifully detailed. I love the sweet cherubs that create the handles of this piece. Suitable for serving anything wet or dry, and oh, so, lovely, dates around 1900.

    Dimensions: 5 3/4 x 2 7/8 x 2"
    Weight: 116 grams
Hallmarks: still working on their meaning. See the last photo

Beautiful condition with surface wear consistent with age. You will notice the rose design motif throughout the reticulated piece. The story of the Hildesheim Rose, after which this piece is patterned, delights me. The oldest known rose alive today, it has withstood wars and time. Rising 69 feet at the Hildesheim Cathedral, it's an inspirational point for the German nation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thousand-year_Rose

Since it's solid 800 silver, you don't have to worry about the finish wearing off with use. A simple polish removes any accumulating tarnish. (I prefer Hagerty Silversmith's wash with a tarnish preventative. Avoid using silver dips; they'll remove the lovely patina that gathers in the crevices to enhance the detail of these pieces.)

    No monogram.

Commensurate with age, the condition is very good to excellent.
