DetailsI love thinking of the families that vintage pieces served; this sweet vintage Gorham Sterling Silver Ladle likely has no doubt seen lovely parties.
Ladles this size are usually classified as cream ladles, but they double as any other ladle, open for serving sauces, ice cream toppings, whipped cream. This piece is from the pattern called Chantilly the most popular pattern of the 20th century. I am guessing at the vintage as a median point, as the lack of a specific year icon puts it past 1933. Look for the beautiful fluting around the bowl. That extra detail makes these pieces more collectible.

Markings: Gorham Sterling
Since it's solid silver, you don't have to worry about the finish wearing off with use. A simple polish removes any accumulating tarnish. (I prefer Hagerty Silversmith's wash with a tarnish preventative. Avoid using silver dips; they'll remove the lovely patina that gathers in the crevices to enhance the detail of these pieces.)
No monogram.
Commensurate with age, the condition is very good to excellent.
